Englewood Brake Service

Your braking system and it’s components are crucial to keeping you and your loved ones safe while on the road. Problems with your brakes, can be a terrible and scary experience. We recommend having your brakes inspected twice a year for wear and damage. By doing so, you can protect yourself and your passengers, and you can save money by catching any problems before it ends up becoming too costly.

What do we check during our brake inspection?

Brake Fluid - The brake fluid can easily become dirty or contaminated. As it draws moisture and picks up other debris, which can cause you brake system to rust internally. Additionally, it breaks down over time from excess heat caused by friction in the braking system. Clean brake fluid should appear clear or slightly yellow. Contaminated or dirty brake fluid will usually be brown or sometimes even black. Keeping old and dirty brake fluid in your braking system can damage brake systems internally. During your brake inspection at Xpertech, we check your brake fluid to make sure it is clean and free of contamination.

Master Cylinder - The heart of your vehicle’s braking system is the master cylinder. It holds the brake fluid when it is not being delivered to the brakes through the brake lines. If the master cylinder is worn or brake lines are plugged or broken and leaking, the fluid cannot be delivered, causing the brake pads to become ruined. Xpertech Auto Repair will make sure the master cylinder is operating in good condition.

Brake Pads/Shoes & Rotors/DrumsYour brake pads and/or shoes can be made of ceramic, metal or organic materials. The rotors and drums that they press against are made of metal. The brake system creates friction to stop the car. Over time, the brake components wear down. By letting the brake pad or shoe wear go for too long, the metal of the calipers to which they are attached grind against the rotors and drums and damage them. When we inspect your brakes, we will make sure your brake pads are in good condition.
